romanhaluszczak4

Just starting with some blogs about hidden risks that your organisation is unaware of but still faces.

The risks that lie quietly ticking away but do we understand them?

Sometimes it relates to our inability to read our environment or to underestimate the risks we already face.

The problem here is we don't know what we don't know.

We need to identify large and devastating threats to our organisation as part of our risk register and risk analysis process.

How likely is it that the bomb will explode. When will it explode and when do we have to act. Sooner or later!

We need to identify strategies that will either:

  1. Diffuse the bomb

  2. Delay its explosion

  3. Contain the damage it causes

  4. Or a combined approach of 1 to 3 detailed above.

Defusing strategies may include:

  • Investing in R and D

  • Changing your business model

  • Changing your products and business plan

  • Focusing on new products and services

The questions we need to ask ourselves include:

  • What's ticking away in our organisation and how can we deal with it?

  • When might it explode?

  • Are we ready for it when it does explode?

  • Is there anyone looking for Bombs in our organisation?

  • How much attention do we pay to change?

Do we discount the unlikely or unexpected?

All the above approaches will help us find the Unexploded Bombs in our organisation.

A useful preliminary list would include:

  • The effects of the pandemic

  • The cost of living crisis

  • The climate emergency

  • Supply side delivery issues

  • Brexit

  • Political stability

  • Problems with labour supply and availability

  • The Ukraine war

Although these are significant Unexploded Bombs in your Organisation there could be more specific issues for you to include in the above list as well!

Keep searching for your unexploded Bombs and have a dedicated team to do so!

Your bomb clock is ticking!

We must do this!
